I haven't been using gnewsense up to now because it hasn't supported my wireless card. But since I discovered the Ali Gunduz precompiled kernel repository I've updated to a kernel which supports it. It turns out that my only problem with using the lts version of ubuntu was the old kernel. Now everything works! Cool.

Whoo Hoo!

Welcome to freedom. I was so glad when I solved my wireless problem. Now I only await gNewSense 3.0 for the next level of bliss.

Ah, junebug! When? Signed, Anxious "Wanna-Be Nerd"!

First of all, don't worry. If you want to be a nerd, you can be. Trust me, I know. : )

Seriously though, I have no information that it will be before next April. gNS is based on Ubuntu LTS as you know. A while ago I wrote to the developers and one answered me back that it's the lack of development resources (people) that prevents gNS being released on each Ubuntu version. I only wish my current schedule allowed me to have more time to help. Perhaps next year.

I wouldn't mind a new version before April of course, perhaps featuring a newer kernel or updated Gnome, etc. We'll see.
