I have been trying to install the Iced tea java plugin for mozilla browsers in icecat. I installed it through synaptic but now I don't know how to get it into icecat. any ideas???

Please don't use the term "open" when you talk about IcedTea. It's free software because it gives you freedom.
Anyway this is not the right place to ask.
Please consider joining the GNU IceCat mailing list and asking there:

My apologies the only reason I called it open Java i because I thought that was the name of the package. thanks for the correction.
