In the next version of Gnewsense will Gnash be pre-installed? Is there a reason that it wasn't in this version? I mean flash is all over the internet. It seems strange to me that there isn't an up-to-date .deb to install...

Come to the that. Why do I have to install icedtea to get java support?

Pre-installed Gnash is a pretty good idea, in my opinion.

Sounds good to me, as long as I can easily uninstall it (no nasty dependency problems) by using Synaptic Package Manager. :)

gNewSense 2.1 is based on Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04.1 that doesn't have gnash preinstalled. In gNewSense you can install it if you want but the version on the repositories is gnash 0.8.2. Using this one you can't watch a lot so I suggest you to download and install the updated package, gnash 0.8.4 from here:

Any major changes from Ubuntu such as Gnash preinstalled requires more developers and we don't have them at the moment.

If you are a developer or you know one please consider suggesting him/her to join gnewsense-dev mailing list and help us.

Thank you.
