I currently use gobuntu 7.04 and want to update to gNS 2. While trying the live-cd i noticed that my ethernet card (Intel 82562V) doesn't work. Is it possible that it would work after installation or is there simply no free driver for my device?
I don't suggest an update.
I suggest a clean fresh install because things are different in gNewSense.
If your ethernet card doesn't work you can buy a new one that works well with free software.

Thanks for the hint but buying a new one won't help. I use a notebook (hp510) and have no chance to change the card (it's onboard). Seems like I've got to buy a wireless router because wlan works perfect.
The HP 510 notebook has a PCMCIA pc card slot.
You can buy an ethernet pc card supported by free software. Please look at the link above.
