DeviceError

I tried to boot from the live cd but as it loads up it says<error on device>on the first line and on the second line it says it again<error on device> then it loads up the rest of the way but it wont install it will just freeze up my friend says it might be the cd drive <it mackes wierld sounds like something is striped>??? plz help someone

I think your friend is right, try changing the cd drive and see if it works.
