Can anyone point me to any resource by which I can learn how to debug sound card problems? May be a series of commands that will help me determine where the problem is happening?
Currently, I have no sound on my laptop after the latest update. I know this happened because of removal of a linux-ubuntu-modules that contained some non-free software.
But before this, when I first installed gNewSense 2.0 from a live cd, I used to get sound from headphones, but not from integrated speakers on the laptop. So I just wanted to learn how to debug such issue.
My Sound Card model is Intel's 82801CA/CAM AC97 Audio Controller97
