Galeon is a powerful web browser with a good gtk2 integration plus advanced features for the respect of your privacy. Some of these features include: advanced cookies, popup, picture and tabs management. Its developement has been officially discontinued since september 2006 with version 2.0.2, when galeon's team decided to work on epiphany. Nevertheless a team is continuing the developement of galeon on http://sourceforge.net/projects/galeon/.

No ads filter

To have a no ads filter, you can use your own userContent.css file. For this, do, in terminal:

 mkdir -p ~/.galeon/mozilla/galeon/chrome/

Then download the following css file to ~/.galeon/mozilla/galeon/chrome/:


This no ads filter works pretty well by default, but you can edit it as you wish. It comes from http://web.archive.org/web/20050406025919/www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/adblock (or http://galeon.sourceforge.net/Main/NoAdsFilter).

Restart galeon and enjoy!
